Send a link, get the video back in Telegram
Paste a link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X and many other sites into a chat with @VideoDownloadBot, and it replies with the video itself, ready to watch, save or forward. Files up to 2 GB go through.

How to use it
- Open @VideoDownloadBot in Telegram and press Start.
- Send it a link to a video, for example a YouTube video, a TikTok or an Instagram reel.
- It shows Downloading… and Uploading… and then sends the video into the chat.
- In any other chat, type
@VideoDownloadBotin a reply to a message with a link, and it posts the video there.

It downloads through yt-dlp, so most sites yt-dlp supports work. Reddit, Vimeo and Facebook ask for a login and don't. Live streams can be downloaded once they've ended.
Questions
How big can a video be?
Up to 2 GB, Telegram's limit for a bot running its own Bot API server. If a video is bigger, the bot tells you it's too large for Telegram.
Can I use it in a group?
Yes. Add it to a group and it picks up video links from sites like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and X, and replies with the video. Other links, like articles, are ignored unless you mention the bot.
Can I use it in a chat it isn't in?
Yes. Reply to a message with a link and mention @VideoDownloadBot, and it answers right there, even in chats it isn't a member of.
Why is the same video instant the second time?
The bot remembers videos it has already sent to Telegram, so a link it has seen before (or the same video under another link) comes back immediately.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no paid plan, and the code is open source under the MIT license. Please download only videos you have the right to save.
Is videodownloadbot.com yours?
No. That site belongs to a different bot. Ours is @VideoDownloadBot in Telegram, with its code on GitHub.
